Chennai Metro Rail Stations Name
Chennai Metro is a fast transit system serving the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Operated by the Chennai Metro Rail Limited, the system start service in 2015 after partially opening the first phase of the project. The network consists of two colour-coded lines covering a length of 28 kilometres (17 mi). The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a joint venture between the Government of India and the Tamil Nadu Government, creates and operates Chennai Metro. The system contains a mixture of underground and elevated stations, and standard gauge is used, the services work with different frequency of 10-20 minutes daily between 06:00 and 22:00

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), which was responsible for the designing and implementation part of the Delhi Metro Rail Project, has worked on the detailed project report of the Chennai Metro Rail Project. The project report suggested the construction of two initial corridors in the phase-1 of the project. These two corridors are Washermenpet to Airport and Chennai Central to St. Thomas Mount.

Corridor 1 from Washermenpet to Airport (23.1 kms)
Washermenpet – Broadway or Prakasam Road – Chennai Central Station – Rippon Building – along Cooum River – Government Estate – Tarapore Towers – Spencers – Gemini – Anna Salai – Saidapet – Guindy – Chennai Airport
Corridor 2 from Chennai Central to St.Thomas Mount (22.0 kms.)
Chennai Central -along EVR Periyar Salai – Vepery – Kilpauk Medical College – Aminjikarai – Shenoy Nagar – Annanagar East – Anna Nagar 2nd Avenue – Tirumangalam – Koyambedu – CMBT -Inner Ring Road – Vadapalani – Ashok Nagar – SIDCO – Alandur – St. Thomas Mount
